Senior capstone design is the culminating engineering experience of the Biomedical Engineering program at the University of Delaware. Teams work with clinical sponsors to identify a real unmet need, develop and prototype a solution through the full medical device design process, and present their work at the end of the year. The project integrates skills from across the curriculum — engineering design, biomechanics, materials, regulatory, and clinical context — into a single year-long deliverable.

I'm entering this experience with a background in medical device fabrication from my work at the BRITE Lab, familiarity with the design process from my Teaching Assistant role in Medical Device Design, and a strong interest in applying those skills to a problem with direct clinical impact.
